I devote a lot of my time to writing, both for my professional obligations and for my own satisfaction. For those who don't know me personally, I work as a content writer on a full-time basis. Whatever time I am able to invest here writing blogs for my website is only in between and after office hours. That's the time, that I owe to myself and my growth. And nobody asked but that is also one of the prominent reasons I lack consistency in putting something here.
I have been writing since I was in 6th standard. I had a aptitude for writing things, be it poems, fiction short stories, songs, and stuff. Although I never truly saw it as a secure career option but what kept me going for the 12 years up till now is the amount of content we are always surrounded by (I'll come back to this before I sum up).
My knack for observing things and people has always helped me. More than finding commercial success, I seek to find a purpose by writing content here. Thus, I always say that my readers are really important to me.
If you woke up all cranky today, thinking nobody cares for you or values your presence. Hold on, You my dear readers are so valuable to me. Whenever I put something here, my eyes search for a countable few who come here and indulge with my content regularly and then go back and be so kind to tell me their precious opinions, both good and bad.
We are all playing a part in each other's life. I by writing content for you, and you by reading that out for me. And let me tell you that isn't a small part. It is a vital one.
Although it just has been a very short span of 2 years since I started introducing myself as a professional content writer, people do ask me what is the most important skill an aspiring writer must possess?
I always firmly answer that observational skills are the key skill that makes your job 10x easier when it comes to writing content on a daily basis. If not with others, it works well for me.
As I informed you above I have a serious flair for observing things, people, and situations. Off late I have realized that this has developed to be my favorite hobby. Earlier I thought it was just that it is a God-gifted skill that I am such a keen observer. You changed your lipstick shade? I' 'll notice! You cut an inch of your hair, I'll notice. A monochrome lover suddenly starts wearing all colorful clothes, I'll notice.
And that certainly doesn't stick to your outward or physical change but goes with your emotional and intellectual change too. A little change in your energy, and I tend to overthink it. For instance, if you are somebody who always replies with "okay" and if you start replying with a single letter as "K", I'll overthink it to a whole different level.
And lately, I have started enjoying this habit, I would intentionally leave my earphones at home while traveling by public transport, to closely observe people. Thanks to all the random people I encounter on a daily basis, I never run out of topics(Although I miss out on putting them here regularly. Sorry!).
Most of it remains in my mind as I genuinely don't want to turn these blog posts into my personal diary. Thus I try putting something of value here, something that my readers could take back, something that would urge you to return to this site, something that would allow you to eagerly look forward to my next posts.
One thing I would want you to take back from here today is, the fact that some of the most crucial and appreciated skills in this life are absolutely free to learn. It just requires you a firm will and an observant eye to look around to find your teacher in life, start learning, and you are done.
For a long time once I started writing I would straight away send content for publishing without realizing the most important skill of the whole process of writing is proofreading. For those who were looking for an answer for the blog title, yes I do give a thorough before and after read of my blogposts. And I still mess up with most of the things every single time. But you learn as you grow. So we keep going.
